LeT terrorist killed in ongoing Shopian encounter: Police | KNO

Shopian, Jan 05 (KNO): A terrorist has been killed in the ongoing encounter in Chotigam village of south Kashmir's Shopian district, police said on Friday. A senior police official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a joint team of Police, Army and CRPF launched a Cordon and Search Operation on specific information about the presence of terrorists in the area. He said that the search operation turned into an encounter after terrorists opened fire at the forces, who retaliated. "In the ensuing encounter one terrorist has been killed, while operation is going on," he said. In a statement, a police spokesperson identified the slain terrorist as Bilal Ahmed Bhat son of Ghulam Rasool Bhat of Chek Cholan, affiliated with proscribed terror outfit LeT—(KNO)
